Shine Anyway
I hope everyone is enjoying their Thursday morning. How lucky are we to wake up with the sun shining through our bedroom windows? Knowing that it is yet another day to rock this world's socks off! I hope you all kill it today! :)
First and foremost, supporters of Soul Steppin' Studio deserve a shout out. I can't even begin to thank those that have shared positive and kind words throughout this process. I am so incredibly lucky to have you all on my side. All that, has been the fuel for a fire that was started long ago. So, thank you!
With every new adventure comes haters. People who just can't get on board with what you are trying to do. I just want to let you know that no matter what you do, you will have these select few. I have come to find out that there are three different types of
haters. The first is the change hater. This is the hater that refuses to accept change. That's human nature. We get so set in our ways and it can be very unsettling to feel like something could change that. I am sure we can all look back on something in our lives that has caused this fear to set in. Maybe it was a bad break up, moving to a new school, having a loved one die, or even getting a new computer. People have an extreme fear in the unknown.
Second is the fence sitter. Those that are kind of haters that might be on board but can be swayed one way or the other. They can see the good that something new might bring but those positive thoughts can be overtaken by all the downsides. They also don't want to make anyone mad by stepping on someones toes. They are the people pleasers. I find myself in this group so often.
The last group is the secret hater. Guys, this is THE hardest hater to point out. They come across as supportive and overload you with positive comments to the point where you trust them. You truly believe that they ultimately want the best for you. And like that (snap of a finger), they turn on you. They are bad mouthing your entire process. Making up untrue things to try to make you look bad. Trying to pull people into their hate circle. These are the jealous type.
No matter what kind of hater you deal with, it's important to remember that you are going to have them no matter what you do. The biggest thing is deciding how you are going to handle them. Are you going to let them drag you down? Will you let them burn your dreams to the ground or will you rise above it? This sums it up perfectly, "Small minds can't comprehend big spirits. To be great, you have to be willing to be mocked, hated, and misunderstood. Stay strong."
Whatever that dream in your heart is, go for it. People who matter, won't care and people who care, won't matter.
