This is an advanced class requiring extensive strength and technique. Pointe will meet 45 minutes per week. Dancer must also be enrolled in a concurrent Technique or other style class.

Contemporary

Contemporary dance is a genre of dance performance that developed during the mid twentieth century and has since grown to become one of the dominant genres for formally trained dancers throughout the world, with particularly strong popularity in the U.S. and Europe. Although originally informed by and borrowing from classicalmodern, and jazz styles, it has since come to incorporate elements from many styles of dance. Due to its technical similarities, it is often perceived to be closely related to modern dance, ballet, and other classical concert dance styles.

TECHNIQUE

This class will utilize Progressive Ballet Training and barre fitness to implement precision and strength into the technical elements of other styles. We will learn technique that is age appropriate while also studying the language behind the movements. This will consist of multiple levels that will each meet 30 minutes per week.

ACRO

Acro dance is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context.

HIP HOP/STREET

A very engergetic form of dancing where one will engage all muscles to hit particular movements. This dance allows for freedom and individual expression. Dancers need a good sense of rhythm to match the step to the music. Great for those that don't want the formalities of a normal class. This class will meet 30 minutes per week. Great for the dudes!

LYRICAL

Lyrical combines elements of jazz and ballet with other freestyle movements. The lyrics of songs inspire the movements of the dancer. Students will need a knowledge of ballet and jazz in order to incorporate technique into this class. This class will meet 45 minutes per week.

SOLOS

We encourage students to express themselves with a style of dance that is their choice. We will work one on one with these students each week.
