Contrary To My Facebook Page

Contrary to what I put on my Facebook page, I don't always have it together. I don't always look beautiful, I don't always have a smile on my face. My Facebook is filled with my highlights. The edited part of my life full of filters and happy moments. But let me tell ya, there are plenty of things that don't go on Facebook because they aren't things I want you to see or know about.

I'm here to say that's ok. As I am getting older, yes I said it... older, I am starting to realize that it's ok to not be ok. It's ok to have a bad performance. It's ok to mess up. It's ok to have a bad hair day. It's ok to cheat on your diet. It's ok to fail a test. These occurrences that don't make our Instagram updates, make us human. But here's the deal, we have to be willing to accept each other even in our worst moments.

I'm learning this in my relationships. I'm learning to forgive quickly but love slowly. I'm learning to be brought up by small victories. Sometimes it's all you can do to just celebrate a smile that you can have on a day that's filled with defeat. What would happen if we started being honest with one another and showing each other our moments of weakness? What would Instagram look like if we started highlighting our failures? Not as a proud moment but as an honest moment. A moment of complete openness.

Do me a favor. Take a second to reflect on a failure and be ok with it. Be ok with being you knowing that not every part of you is perfect and together all the time. Embrace a failure, embrace a bad hair day, embrace a screw up. But be willing to love one another through these moments of imperfections!

Much love and happy weekend!
